A Programmable Instrument Designed for Your Imagination
In modern music production, we’ve all used high-quality guitar VST sample libraries to bring guitar sounds into our DAW. Those tools are excellent for capturing a specific moment or a pre-recorded vibe.
Guitarocracy was built to offer you something completely different. This guitar VST is not just a collection of sounds, it is a 14-channel programmable performance system. A digital powerhouse designed to give you, the producer, total authority over the instrument’s physics. It’s a tool that allows you to move beyond simply “triggering” a sample and start “designing” a performance.
Achieve a “Wall of Sound” in a Single Instance
One of the biggest hurdles in virtual production is the CPU and workflow cost of layering. To get a massive, wide guitar sound, you often have to open multiple instances of a plugin.
Guitarocracy reimagines this workflow for you:
- The Unison Matrix: With just one instance, you can play the same note across multiple strings simultaneously to create a massive, natural resonance. This allows you to create a ‘Wall of Sound’ that feels incredibly lush and complex—often mistaken for multi-tracked studio guitars, but achieved instantly in one instance.
- 14-Channel Precision: You have independent control over 12 dedicated string channels (Sustains and Palm-Mutes) plus independent Noise and Reverb paths. enabling a level of precision normally only possible in a full studio multi-mic mix. You can pan, mix, and automate every string of the guitar individually directly within the software.
- Hybrid Articulation Mixing: You can mix a tight palm-mute on your low E-string with a wide, ringing sustain on your high E—all within the same MIDI track.
The Ghost in the Machine:
By utilizing the ±36 semitone pitch shift and independent string panning, you can create “Ghostly” textures. Specifically, try dropping the pitch to its lowest setting while keeping the high-velocity “Fret Noise” channel active. Consequently, you create a sound that vibrates the floor without losing the organic “click” of a real guitar—achieving a cinematic weight that standard VSTs simply can’t reach.
Your Generative Musical Sidekick
Guitarocracy features a Smart-Scale generative system that acts as your creative partner.
We’ve programmed musical variations and algorithmic logic into its “Random” modes. It doesn’t just throw out notes at random; it explores your chosen scale (from a library of 140+ scales and 84 modes) with a sense of harmonic direction. It helps you discover riffs and patterns that feel intentional and human, yet can push into territories that are physically impossible for a human hand to play.
Visualizing the Fretboard in Real-Time
To bridge the gap between your keyboard and the guitar, the Real-Time Theory Engine displays your MIDI input directly on an interactive, digital fretboard.
- Visual Learning: See exactly where your chords land on the neck as you play them on your controller.
- Compositional Accuracy: Ensure your arrangements are “fret-legal” for live players, or use the visual feedback to discover new melodic intervals you wouldn’t typically find on a piano roll.
Defined by You, Not the Plugin
At its core, Guitarocracy is a modular workspace. With over 128 tweakable parameters and a smart randomization system, the “final sound” is never fixed—it is defined by you.
Are you a composer looking for a realistic edge or a sound designer pushing into generative textures? This digital instrument adapts to your vision. The only limit is your imagination.
A Note on Design: Why We Broke the Rules
When we developed Guitarocracy, we faced a choice: do we limit the software to only play what a human guitarist can play, or do we unlock the full potential of the strings? Ultimately, we chose the latter.
While there are hundreds of plugins that function as simple “simulators,” we believe a Guitar VST should be a bridge to new sounds, not a cage for old ones. Consequently, we removed the limitations of “fixed strings.” In this environment, you can play chords that are physically impossible for a human hand and layer unison notes that would require an entire room of guitarists to achieve.
Specifically, by giving you total authority over the pitch, panning, and existence of every individual string, we have created an instrument that has never existed before. It is 100% authentic electric guitar at its core, but it is furthermore a modular playground for the modern creator. Whether you want a traditional riff or a ghostly, sub-harmonic soundscape, the choice is yours.
The goal isn’t just to sound like a guitar—it’s to use the soul of the guitar to create something entirely new.
