Meet the Creators
Thomas Pursifull is a Texas-based musician, audio engineer, sound designer, and software developer. As an alumnus of the Atlanta Institute of Music and Saint Petersburg College, his career has always bridged the gap between raw musical performance and deep audio technology. He founded DO Studios to serve as an independent launchpad for innovative music, film, and software projects.
The “Pen & Paper” Epiphany
The spark for Guitarocracy happened during a late-night album tracking session. Thomas found himself hunched over a desk, manually drawing note maps on a blank paper guitar fretboard just to visualize a complex chord progression for his arrangement.
He paused and realized how inefficient it was. In a world of advanced digital audio workstations, why were composers still relying on pen and paper to decode music theory on a guitar?
Coding the Solution
Driven to bridge this gap, Thomas took his background in Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and fully immersed himself in Native Instruments’ Kontakt Script Processing (KSP). Over years of dedicated development, he took 30 years of guitar expertise and synthesized it into a living, scale-aware code architecture.
The result is Guitarocracy: an officially licensed, NKS-ready virtual instrument that turns complex music theory into real-time visual inspiration.
